The theme of the quest in Arthurian literature – mainly but not exclu-
sively the Grail quest – is explored in the essays presented here. Taking
in the whole range of medieval literatures, and different media from art
to film, they cover topics from the Grail of the Crusaders to female desire
in the Arthurian legend. There is a particular focus on the incompati-
bility of the Arthurian world and the Grail quest.
