1/48 Military Miniatures RUSSIAN MEDIUM TANK T-55
The T-55 was born in 1958 - an area of increasing West-East Cold War tension - as an upgrade to the
existing T-54. It was also produced under license outside the Soviet Union, and when added with the
T-54 its production run is said to have run to the astonishing number of 100,000 units. Warsaw Pact
countries and Arab client states were among those who operated the T-55, w h saw significant
action across the world against counterpart Western designs. Now, it is the newest member of the
Tamiya 1/48 Military Miniature Series, a compact model endowed with details that goes down to the
surface textures and weld lines, and even includes a realistic figure. Whether building it as a stand-
alone model or to place in a diorama with other tanks that served in the Middle East or the Gulf War,
it will be a valued addition to your collection.
