> Di33y on the keys: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Howdy, this is a little description file telling you about the guy who's spent a lot of time writing these pieces of music. To begin, my real name is Juha Kujanpaa, though most of you will recognize me as "Dizzy", which has been my scene handle over the years. With the 3's or without them. :) I live in Finland, the country of polar bears and talented amiga musicians, and at the time of writing this, January of 1996, I'm 21 years old. The pieces of music you'll find from my directory are more or less old, as I'm not composing as much amiga music in these days than I used to. I guess the latest tune you'd find here would be "mod.spekulaatio", which was finished in the summer of 1995. I've been composing 4 channel music on trackers for quite a many years, though the number of my "released" (used in scene productions) modules is relative small. Therefore, most of my tunes have been spread just as they are here. My "scene history" consists of several groups like Mistral, Profex, Decept, Dual Crew, Carillon and CNCD, to mention a few. :) CNCD is at the moment still alive as a computer group, but also as a band. We released our first CD last autumn, and it has sold relative well. As you might know, our lineup consists of several talented amiga musicians like Dean, Groo and Heatbeat. Although there's not much time for tracking new modules, my current life is full of music. I'm studying first year in the university of Jyvaskyla and majoring in music education; my purpose is to become a music teacher. In addition to CNCD, I'm currently playing also in a jazz quartet, a 80's rock band and a symphony orchestra. My main instruments are piano and key- boards, but I've been practising my cello again, after some years of pause. My musicial influences and interests are wide and very different from each other, as I tend to listen to very many kinds of music. If I'd have to name only one genre, they would be jazz, progressive rock and modern folk music. To be more specific,I've listed a few of my favourite artists/groups below: Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, John McLaughlin, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Dave Weckl, Scott Henderson, Geri Allen, Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Robert Fripp, Pekka Pohjola, Mike Oldfield, ELP, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Wigwam, John Zorn, Naked City, Tribal Tech, Trio Toykeat, Hedningarna, JPP, Igor Stravinsky, Beatles, J.S. Bach, Kari Peitsamo, Bobby McFerrin, Susanne Vega, Tori Amos, Tom Waits, Jean Sibelius, Bela Fleck, Dream Theater, Maria Kalaniemi. My favourite Amiga musicians include, in no particular order, Bruno, Dean, Groo, Fleshbrain, Heatbeat and Ukulele. If you'd like to get in touch with me, you can try the following addresses. Anyway, I am not into swapping disks or anything like that, firstly, as I'm not so involved with the scene anymore, and secondly, as I simply don't have any time for that.
