======================================================= Webcow - the handy tool (c) 2000-2004 by Hans Krentel FREEWARE ======================================================= This file contains a step by step description how to update webcow. If you install it the first time there is no need to read further. This description is only usefull if you have problems to overwrite your current webcow version. 1.) If you used the IE integration feature of webcow (right-click menu in internet explorer or lnl) then close Internet Explorer and disable the ie integration in webcow preferences. 2.) Unzip all files from the new zip into your web- cow directory. You should overwrite any file. There is no need and it's not recommended to delte the files by hand. You could loose all your personal settings. 3.) Start webcow.exe and enable IE integration if you want to have it (again) That's it. You just updated your webcow. Additional information: If you won't close Internet Explorer while using IE integration, your system can't unload wcie.dll. each webcow.x.xx.xx.zip contains this .dll file. If the file is not unloaded from memory, then the file can not be overwritten while you unzip the complete package. You can compare this to run webcow and then try to de- lete webcow.exe. It won't work. Keep in mind, that the description provided in this document is for safe use. You can compare the timestamp and filesize to determin wether wcie.dll has to be overwritten or not. Often it's not necessary to overwrite because the file did not change at all.
