Having a pen-friend is a great way to learn about other countries, cultures and
languages. So if you want to find a pen-friend, here are some things to think about.

Before you decide on someone, make a list of qualities that you want your pen-friend
to have. Ask yourself the following questions: which country would you like them to
come from? Do you want a male or female pen-friend? What age do you want them
to be?

Then, search the Internet for different pen-friend websites. It can also be a good idea to
write lo teenage or hobby magazines where you can meet people with similar interests.

When you have chosen the person, decide what you're going to say. Write a bright,
cheerful message telling them a little about yourself. Don't forget to give them your
contact details.
