Warning notice system

Preface
Purpose of the documentation
This documentation is included in the scope of delivery of the SIMATIC Safe Kinematics
option package and provides important information that you need to configure and
commission the supplied monitoring functionality.
Basic knowledge required
General knowledge in the field of automation technology, drive engineering and motion
control is required to understand this documentation. In addition, knowledge in the following
areas is required:
• Fail-safe automation systems
• Fail-safe drive engineering
• Automation System S7-1500
• Distributed I/O systems on PROFINET IO
• TIA Portal, especially:
Hardware configuration with hardware and network editor
Programming in programming languages LAD and FBD with the program editor.

SIMATIC Safe Kinematics is certified according to the following standards:
• IEC 61508 to SIL3
• EN ISO 13849-1 up to PL e, Cat. 4
• IEC 62061 to SIL3
SIMATIC Safe Kinematics is a subsystem of the entire safety sequence. Note that the safety
class (Safety Integrated Level) and the performance level (PL) of the entire system depend on
additional components used and their safety characteristics.

Brief overview of relevant content
The information in this documentation enables you to configure and pro-
gram SIMATIC Safety fail-safe systems.
It will also provide you with information on acceptance of a SIMATIC Safety
fail-safe system.
This documentation describes the Safety Integrated functions available
under SINAMICS S120.
This documentation provides important information on configuring, in-
stalling, wiring and commissioning the S7-1500 automation system/ET
200MP distributed I/O system.
This documentation describes the operation of the standard tools in STEP 7
and contains information on configuring and parameterization of hardware
as well as the description of the programming languages FBD and LAD.
Conventions
The term "Safety program" refers to the fail-safe part of the user program and is used instead
of "fail-safe user program", etc. To distinguish between the two, the non-safety-oriented part
of the user program is referred to as "standard user program".
To distinguish them from blocks and instructions of the standard user program, all fail-safe
blocks and instructions have a yellow background in the software user interface, e.g. in the
project tree. The fail-safe parameters of the F-CPU and F-I/O also have a yellow background in
the hardware configuration.
