You can install additional user interface languages for S7-PLCSIM from the TIA Administrator and TIA Updater Corporate
Configuration Tool. For information, refer to the "What's new in TIA Portal V17 > Installing language packs" topic in the TIA
Portal Information System.

S7-PLCSIM V17 supports the same operating systems, virtualization, antivirus, and hard disk encryption technology as
TIA Portal V17.
Operating system support
Support for the latest firmware and hardware
STEP 7 Basic and S7-PLCSIM
Your STEP 7 license determines which CPUs you can simulate with S7-PLCSIM.
With a STEP 7 Basic license, you can simulate the following CPU families in S7-PLCSIM:
S7-1200 with firmware version 4.0 through version 4.5
S7-1200F with firmware version 4.1 through version 4.5
You can start and run two S7-1200 or S7-1200F simulations at the same time with any combination from these two CPU
families.
STEP 7 Professional and S7-PLCSIM
With a STEP 7 Professional license, you can simulate any of the following CPU families:
S7-1200 with firmware version 4.0 through version 4.5
S7-1200F with firmware version 4.1 through version 4.5
If your project contains CPUs with older firmware versions, the "Start simulation" button in the TIA Portal is not selectable and
you cannot start a simulation.
S7-1500 and S7-1500F with any firmware version up to version 2.9
S7-1504D TF and S7-1507D TF with firmware version 2.9
S7-1500R/H with firmware version 2.9, RUN Solo mode
S7-1518 T/TF
ET 200SP and ET 200SPF with any firmware version up to version 2.9
S7-1500 1518-HF-4 PN
You can start and run two simulations at the same time with any combination of these CPUs.
SIPLUS CPUs
S7-PLCSIM supports the SIPLUS variants of the supported CPUs.
Protection of confidential PLC configuration data
S7-1200 V4.5 and higher
Protection of confidential PLC configuration data provides increased project storage security for each PLC. This feature is
available in TIA Portal V17 with the following CPUs:
S7-1500 V2.9 and higher
ET200pro CPU, V2.9 and higher
ET200SP CPU, V2.9 and higher
When you download a STEP 7 project that has protection of confidential PLC configuration data to S7-PLCSIM, only the
current, active Windows user can work with the protected simulation. Do not share your Windows password with other
untrustworthy users.
