A week in photography

has forced us photographers
to be resourceful and
creative. No longer can we
rely on driving to stunning
landscapes or jetting to exotic countries. We
have to find inspiration locally, and we hope
this issue will give you lots of ideas, from
suggestions for shots on local walks to
making a bespoke hide. Another great

or honing your printing skills generally, so

TREASURES FROM THE HULTON ARCHIVE

Leaping Audrey
by Bert Hardy
Here’s a cheery image from the archive to lift the
spirits. The 70-year-old photograph shows iconic
actress Audrey Hepburn exercising her dog in
London’s Richmond Park after a strenuous season in
the London revue
Sauce Piquante.
It was taken by
another icon – Bert Hardy – for the story ‘We Take A
Girl To Look for Spring’ in a 1950 edition of the
Picture Post.
The following year, Hepburn would
make her Broadway debut, and in 1953 her first
Hollywood appearance in the film
Roman Holiday
would turn her into one of the most sought-after
movie stars in the world.
