ASM Module 04: Creating Your 
Brand Pinterest Account  
 
 
In this lesson, you will set up your brand Pinterest account, 
update your profile, and add some initial content.

1. Why Pinterest?  
Your brand Pinterest account is more about brand recognition than it is about 
launching products, but it can still be a viable option during promotions.  
 
Adding content to your Pinterest account is so easy, it makes this a simple and 
effective use of your time!  
2. Creating Your Brand Pinterest Account  
Take the following steps to create your brand Pinterest account:

www.pinterest.com  
 
 
 
2. Click “Sign in with Google,” click “Allow” to let Pinterest know your age 
range and interests, then pick five topics that are related to your brand, 
and click “Done.”  
3. Either click “Get it now” to add a Pinterest button to your browser, or click 
“Skip” (the additional browser button is not necessary).  
4. Click the three dots icon at the top right of the page, then click “Edit 
settings.”  
5. Scroll down the page and change your name to your brand name. 
6. Click “Change picture,” click “Choose photo,” then double-click your 
brand photo.  
7. Enter information about your brand into the “About you” box (use the 
same information that you did with your Facebook brand page)—you 
may need to shorten it, as you are only allowed to use 160 characters.  
8. Enter your location.  
9. Enter your website address, then click “Claim website.”  
10. Click the circle next to “Add HTML tag” and copy the URL information 
from the pop-up box, then click “Next.”

11. Log in to your Wix.com account, click “Manage & Edit Site” at the top of 
the page. 
12. Click “SEO” in the left sidebar, then scroll down and find the text that says 
“Ready to add header codes to your site?” Click on “Click here to do this 
in the Editor.” 
13. Paste the URL “Header Code” into the box:

14. Close the box, click “Publish” at the top right of the page, then click 
“Done.”  
15. Go back to Pinterest, and click “Finish” in the pop-up box.  
16. If you see a box letting you know that they are working on confirming 
your site, click “Okay.” Then, click “Save Settings.”  
 
Now, you have created a Pinterest profile, and it is time to add content to your 
board by taking the following steps:

1.
Go to your Pinterest home page, and click the plus symbol above 
“Create board” on the left side of the page—boards are like folders, 
where you store images that other people can access and enjoy.  
2. Enter a name for your board (e.g., “Canoeing,” “Mountain Bikes,” etc.), 
then click “Create.” Make sure to add a board for humourous pins, since 
those are more likely to go viral.  
3. Enter relevant terms into the search bar (e.g., “Outdoors,” “Biking trails,” 
“Adventure,” etc.), then click the magnifying glass search icon.  
4. Browse the images to find ones that are attractive and 
eye-catching—the point is to attract people to your board!  
5. Hover your cursor over an attractive image, click “Save,” then click the 
board you want to pin this picture to.  
6. Repeat this process until you have relevant content on each of your 
boards—also, remember to update your boards regularly!  
 
You have created a brand Pinterest board and added content—now, head to 
the next lesson, where you will learn how to take all of the brand assets you’ve
