FORD O1A STAFF CAR
Built by Ford Canada during 1939-40, this military people carrier was used to transport
junior officers to and from the front line. Because this might involve a two-day trip it
had to carry everything it needed such as extra fuel and water cans which are stowed
on its sides, as well as rations and ammunition. Maps and bedding were stored on
the roof rack or in the boot. The device on the front wing is a sun compass and
on the other side of the vehicle is a petrol cooker and its ‘Dixie’ pan. This beautifully
authentic example belongs to Nigel Watson.
